How to Stop MacOS Sonoma Input Suggestions Overlay

I am being frustrated by a text suggestions overlay that is blocking my view of text and getting in the way of where I want to click. Please help me identify what is this feature and how can I turn it off.

Why would anyone want this compared to right click menu?

Why would anyone want an auto-overlay appearing constantly to change their keyboard input? Anyone who has multiple input languages can map a hotkey in the settings such as CAPLOCK key or FN key.

I've had a look through settings, and I've done a bunch of Google searches but I cannot figure out what this feature is called and cannot find anything that sounds like it might be this so I can turn it off.

Please help me identify what this feature is called and how to turn it off.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 14.0

There are several ways to switch input sources: Control Space, Option Control Space, Globe/FN, Caps Lock. Does using one of these instead of the others make any difference in the behavior of that widget?

Looks line " Show inline predictive text " or " Show typing suggestions " related to Keyboard Input

Regarding the input menu button asking you to choose between Chinese and English, there are various complaints about this new "feature". If it does not go away via other settings, make sure you tell Apple you want it changed via

I only use Chinese a couple of times a day, so it's extremely frustrating that this overlay widget is constantly interfering with my ability to read whats on the screen; but I cannot remove Chinese because theres no other way to type the characters without it. Super annoying.

This is very frustrating. It's happening everywhere system-wide, even in terminal. I have followed the suggestions in this thread but none worked to removing this. It keeps getting in the way when moving the cursor, switching input language, or highlighting text.

Seriously, how do I turn this off!? Whatever program I'm using, its constantly interfering with this overlay when I'm trying to click elsewhere in the text
