Lost Automatic Brightness Adjustment option after Sonoma 14.0 update

After updating to Sonoma 14.0 on my MacBook Air M2, the display brightness was behaving erratically in terms of display brightness. So I turned it off from the display settings. Now when I went back to display settings the option to turn on/off Automatic Brightness Adjustment is gone.

Have you shut down and restarted the computer more than once...
