Keyboard

My keyboard on my 8th generation is not working properly. Some keys I have to push more than once. And sometimes the words they think I’m going to type at the bottom don’t appear properly. Can I get advice on my problem thanks

iPad, iPadOS 17

Hello terrystots11,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with your iPad keyboard. Are you referring to an external keyboard or the one that appears on your iPad screen? If it is the one on the screen, have you tried restarting your iPad? This simple step resolves a multitude of issues: Restart your iPad - Apple Support

If that doesn't resolve the issue, does your iPad need updating to iOS 17.0.3? Do you have a recent backup for the data in your iPad in iCloud or your computer? If not, we recommend that you create one as described here: How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

Then update your iOS as outlined here:  Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If the issue persists, follow the rest of the steps here to resolve the issue: If your screen isn't working - Apple Support

"If your screen still isn't working, you might need to set up service for your device. Contact Apple Support."

We hope this helps.

Cheers!
