Where are my iCloud iPhone backups?

I deleted the backups of my iPad and iPhone to clear some space in my iCloud storage.

Intending to do a fresh backup, I go to the finder and select the devices.

'Back up your most important data on your iPhone to iCloud' is selected.

I click 'Back Up Now' and it appears to through the process of backing up.

When it finishes, 'Last backed up to iCloud:' still says some time in the past.

And System Preferences/iCloud/Account Storage/Manage/Backups is still empty.

I only think I need these backups to restore a device or set up a new one.

So have they been backed up at all?

And what is 'Manage Backups...' in the Finder window managing? The iCloud data or the backups to the Mac?

Hello Pfyer,

If you want to back your devices up to iCloud, follow these steps: How to back up your iPhone or iPad with iCloud - Apple Support. Depending on the backup data size, this may take some time so running this overnight while plugged in and the device is locked is usually preferred by most.

Once the backup is completed, you will see that reflected on the devices themselves under Settings > your name > iCloud > iCloud Backup.

iCloud backup management on your Mac is explained here in the "Find and manage backups stored in iCloud" section of this article: Locate backups of your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support.

We hope this helps. Let us know if we can assist with anything else at all. Take care.
