Hey!

If you have just bought a new phone, it ISN’T overheating, unless you get a screen popup that says you have to wait for the temperature to cool down.

When purchasing a new phone, the phone indexes all the new data you have put on the phone. (Meaning, it is scanning your emails, photos, and almost everything on your phone, so that when you search for something, it is more accurate.) In almost all cases, this is a normal occurrence and not something you should worry about.

However, if this IS NOT a new phone, you can try some of the tips listed below by other users:

This overheating can also be caused by a nearly-full storage. If that is the case, free some storage!

Best of Luck,

If your phone feels considerably hot and reduces the screen brightness, what do you make out of it?

I charged from 35% to 72% and was working on my Mac just listening to Spotify via iPhone and in less than 3h, the phone went down to 32% again. Shocker.

The phone still feels warmer than normal, with very little activities. Very disappointing.

I have the 15 pro max and my experience has been slightly different. The only time my phone overheats is when I’m playing Pokémon go and the sun is out, worse from noon to about 4-5pm. It’s fine in the early morning and at night; even when I’m using it while hotspotting another phone. But, if it’s real suny and above 70 degrees, it gets hot real quick.

haven’t experienced any overheating issues otherwise. It’s never turned off on its own, sent texts/made a call by accident, gotten too hot while in use when I’m home. Prior to this phone, I had the 13 pro max and never had it overheat once. Not in any instance like I described above or while using my hotspot.

Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max. After the update came out seemed to be doing fine. Today the overheating started again. Happened in the car just surfing the web. No sunlight and was stopped, not connected to Bluetooth. At home, had connected to screen mirroring, which I do a lot, and started getting hot. Do t know what’s going on. I have a 1TB phone and have over 600 GB of free space. Have not downloaded anything or changed recently. This is frustrating. Definitely was thinking about a MacBook, not now. Apple is too expensive to have issues like this.
