Apple Vision Pro is now available in the U.S.

My MacBook Pro trackpad is unresponsive to tap if Command key is pressed at the same time

I looked this up, and it seems that many people are/were having this exact problem over a year ago. My trackpad works perfectly on a light single tap unless I hold down the Command key for a special selection. If I hold my command key down, it will not recognize the single light tap (as set in settings), and you have to tap HARD on the trackpad to get it to recognize the tap.

This has been a problem with the M Macbook Pros since they were introduced. I have a brand new 14" M2 Macbook Pro with the operating system (Ventura) that was provided. My previous 2016 Intel 16" rMBP does not exhibit this problem.

Is anyone else having this issue, or has a fix been identified? Search results are limited.

@bookworm32, did you find a solution?

I have the same problem: holding shift or command (or perhaps any key) while tapping sometimes does not register a tap until the third try. I have a Macbook M2 15", Sonoma 14.1.2. I believe this computer has always had this problem and didn't develop it over time. And, yes, it was not a problem on my old 2019 Macbook pro.
