No Service after iOS 17.0.3 Update

i got a notification to update my iPhone 14 promax to iOS 17.03 which I did. After the update, my device has been displaying no service. I have done all the recommended solutions on google ( removed and reinserted the sim, reset settings, hard restart, no iOS update). Is there any other option to explore?

Same exact issue happened to me. iPhone 13 Pro, the download automatically went through last night and so far I have been completely unable to connect to my data. Been having to use my school’s WiFi for everything but cannot text or call without it. Hoping it’s just a glitch, any solutions?

HI, I had a vpn profile which work before the update (Private Internet Access PIA profile and home VPN profile).

I removed all the vpn profiles and i had network connectivity via wifi and cellular back!.

Here the steps I followed:

  • To remove VPN settings installed by a configuration profile, go to Settings > General > Profiles & Device Management, select the configuration profile, then tap Remove Profile. This also removes other settings and accounts provided by the profile. See Install or remove configuration profiles on iPhone in this guide.

  • Reset your Network Settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

Any news guys?

I mean, I had this mobile error stuff with the iOS 16 and now again. Really ****** me off… I’ve tried everything… It’s the iOS version indeed. If this continues I’ll strongly consider moving on from apple, even though I have a Mac. The phones are expensive enough to give us this kind of error. Hopefully they fix this in the next patch or I’m done with iPhone!

iPhone 13 Pro. Los Angeles.

I updated on ios 17.0.1. First day, no data. Second day, seems to be working, but noticed some apps under cellular data was greyed out and could not use cellular for Safari, App Store.

Reset network settings, and no improvement.

Traveled for work to NY 3 days later. No data at all. Went to Verizon store in NYC, tried new eSIM, physical SIM, no solution. Verizon said take it to Apple Store.

Saw update for 17.0.2 in NYC. Updated, worked for a bit, then dropped off and data stopped working. After 6 days in NYC, the data came back, but still had App Store, Safari greyed out and could not toggle on. Took it to Apple store on my last day in NYC, after 4hrs, ran all diagnostics, phone had no issues. Apple recommended to factory hard reset and do not back up. Basically, start over.

Came back to LA and data worked. Saw 17.0.3, l updated hoping to resolve any/all issues, phone was same status. Cellular working, but some apps greyed out still. At least working somewhat.

Went to NYC again for business, lost all data for 7 days without any solution. No data, no calls, only working on Wifi. Restart button did not even work and had to let battery drain out to 0% to reset.

Came back to LA last night, and now no data still and only working on Wifi. Just did a factory reset and backed up from iCloud, still same issue.

Exactly, unnecessary stress… I don’t mind social media at all but I need maps and other apps to go to the forest, hiking, etc… Imagine if you working with internet and stuff?

This iOS also drains my battery and my phone shuts down during the evening out of nowhere. I mean, if the next iOS doesn’t fix these issues I’m getting another phone, no more iPhone, I’m already that upset by these iOS errors…

I had a m iPhone 12 Pro Max which was working fine.

About 3 weeks ago the 17.0.x upgrade option came up so ever the optimist I upgraded to (at the time) 17.0.2, and shortly thereafter, when switching between (I assume) different cell tower locations when I was using cell data (for GPS app and streaming some thing), it stopped working indicating I was Off-Line when using cell data service.

Cell phone service worked, basic text (not iMessage which uses Internet), when on wi-fi internet worked but no cell data internet worked.

I went to through multiple lengthy troubleshooting sessions with AT&T. They (1) had me reset m transfer in locally setting option

(2) they reset the connection cell service provider end

(3) turned on and off airplane mode

(4) powered off and on multiple times in the process

(5) swap from physical Sim to an eSIM

(6) per their recommendation, went to an Apple Store for hardware diagnostic, after I did troubleshooting with Apple, they said there may have been a problem with either the battery or the wireless charging functionality. It was suggested may need to replace the back board of the device (not the screen side) however the cost of that would be more expensive to swap out than it was worth. It was an older device so opted to an upgrade so I upgraded to 15 max Pro

Transferred all my files

Regretfully assuming all would be good I wiped the old phone to factory reset (which is supposed to reset all activations/ like find my phone) at the time

and it continues to be an issue.

I was on another call with my phone service provider and they sent it to their backend provider to troubleshoot without much luck.

There was indication that many of the recent request they’ve been supporting seems to occur following iPhone 17 updates

The latest suggestion after another session with AT&T was to swap out ATT Sims cards for a new Sims card with a new phone number.

I’ve not done this yet but will try it shortly and provide feedback on that if that helps.

I’m no expert but I do recommend not upgrading to 17 yet as this seems to likely be part of the problem.

I have had this issue on my 14 Pro Max, running on 17.0.3, where my network was completely knocked out for over two hours one day while I was on cellular. It was 'No Service', and multiple restarts, aeroplane mode switch, network settings reset DID NOT resolve this issue. I had two sim cards on my device coincidentally, one eSim one physical, and neither was working, so it was not an issue with the carrier settings as well. I tried enabling/disable both sim cards, nothing changed. It fixed itself two hours later.

Yesterday while I was on cellular once again, it was showing me bars on my cellular connection, but there were no calls coming in. Any body calling me was getting a 'Busy' message and then disconnected. Outgoing calls simply showed 'call failed'. This was fixed after an aeroplane mode switch.

Given the price of this device, and on a country like India where it cost me 1800$ for this device, this is absolutely unacceptable. I should not have to worry about why this is happening, software or what not. I shall wait for another update and monitor the connection in the time being. If it is not fixed, I'm going to have to switch to another manufacturer. I cannot accept the fact that a device which is shooting ProRes video cannot handle cellular connectivity.

Hi!

Sorry to disappoint you all but I just updated to IOS 17.1

As expected at this point, no improvements… No mobile service at all. I’ve also tried everything again (restart, reset network…) with the new iOS but nothing good happened…

I am changing phones straight away… iPhone is going to the trash, even though I have and love my MacBook… Good luck with your iPhones guys… Really upset…
