Very bright white lights coming from my phone

At about 2:30 am I was not sound asleep and noticed very white lights coming from my night table where my phone was laying not plugged to charger. The lights were so bright it lite the whole room like the LED overhead light had come on blinking like a Morse Code. Thought I was being oversensitive and in about a minute it did it again with the same brightness and blinking.

None of my alarms were on and rings were not silenced.

What could have caused this. I had cats in the bedroom and both jumped up with alarm to run.
