I am struggling to sync my Apple Watch to a new iphone

I attempted to unpair from my old iPhone but it did not work. I continue to get the same messages even when I attempted to erase all content.

Apple Watch Series 4, watchOS 8

Wondering what trouble-shooting tips the error messages are giving you.

Seems it is the Watch OS version on the Watch, and the iOS version on the phone that need to be compatible.

Eg: pair Watch OS 9 and iPhone iOS 16

or Watch OS10 and iPhone iOS 17
