Has anyone else experienced a very loud sound, like an air horn blast while listening to music on AirPod Pro 2nd gen since the recent update? Apple replaced them but I’m concerned because even a short blast of a very loud sound can cause permanent ear damage. The sound was very very loud, was not music, and came from the Airpods not the environment.

Get a Second Replacement:
Request a new replacement. It appress you have provided with faulty AirPods.

Without researching this, I don’t have a clue. Perhaps you doctor knows what vices if best for you? So, ansk them what feature of such an headphone is best.

The sound that the AirPods produced was the loudest sound I have ever experienced in my life. This experience completely contradicts the high standards I have come to expect from Apple.
