i dont use a password.
just want machine to boot up and open at working screen.
this set up i had on last ios version.
on upgrading has serious problems as i dont use a password.......apple help were next to useless.
having studied and actioned as per attached photos......machine just boots up to password box and stops.

turn off file vault in system settings

As for No Password to Log Into this computer.
In the almost 20 years of using Apple Computers - I have never been able to Setup a computer without having a Password for the computer
That same Computer Password would be Required for any type of Upgrade to a newer versiion like Ventura 13.6 to Sonoma 14.0
Unless this computer Originally came with Sonoma Preinstalled - how was this upgrade from macOS xx to Sonoma achieved ?
I have just added a test user, changed the password to be blank, and then set this mac to automatically log in as <test user>

my last version 13 worked ok........no password......turn on and full automatic open to working screen.
all versions before to my first mac mini in 2009 did the same...open fully without password from switch on !

Mac Mini 2009 - best it could possible run would be OS X 10.11.6 El Capitan released September 30, 2015
An Admin Account and Usually the Owner Account has ALL the Privileges that other added accounts do not have
The " Owner Account of this computer " has that privilege to add, remove, upgrade or downgrade accounts. This would include adding more Admin Accounts and / or downgrading an ADDED Admin account
Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac
Normally the " Owner Account " is the very first Account used when the Computer was Very First Setup as New and out of the box.
Adding additional Admin Account can be done there after.

turning off vault file was done months ago..........its not the solution.
It was the solution in my case, sorry it didn’t work for you
Does this then by pass need to log in?
I have the same issue. I have it set to Auto log in but it still asks for password and if I make errors twice in a row accidentally it locks me out for hours so I want to disable it also.
I have it blank, and my cat hit the keyboard twice in a row and I was locked out for hours. It's happened before so I'd like to disable this too.
