Akai MPK mini MIDI MK2 won't connect as MIDI controller on Garageband, what should I do?

I just recently got a used Akai MPK mini MK2 Midi keyboard, it does play it's normal functions of being a standard midi keyboard, but the knobs don't seem to work at all. They should work as a Midi controller but nothing is showing up. What should I do?

MIDI Routing Issues - What am I missing? Hi all, I’ve got a hardware synth and a MIDI controller keyboard. Both are connected to Mac by USB and they both work fine together within my DAW (ie press key on controller = synth makes noise). I’d also like to have them working without the DAW so I don’t have to fire it up every time I want to play around with the synth. I’ve followed the Apple instructions and made the connections between the devices in Audio MIDI Setup (at least I think I have) but nothing happens. I’ve got Impact Out routing to Prophet In. When I put on the Apple test mode it beeps when I press a key on the keyboard but the synth makes no noise. There must be something obvious I’m missing! Any help appreciated.

Macbook 2021 not connecting/compatible with my midi keyboard Akai MPK 249 I just bought the 2021 MacBook & Logic Pro this month for music production (which I just began). But my 2021 MacBook is not connecting/compatible with my midi keyboard Akai MPK 249. Midi is not discoverable on Mac even though it is powered on with usb Should I refund my new Mac and buy a window based Laptop that will not give compatibility issue with my studio hardware? What should I do Please advise

If only some features are not working, make sure you have your keyboard set up properly to be used with your Mac. The steps in the link below will help with set up:
