Akai MPK mini MIDI MK2 won't connect as MIDI controller on Garageband, what should I do?

I just recently got a used Akai MPK mini MK2 Midi keyboard, it does play it's normal functions of being a standard midi keyboard, but the knobs don't seem to work at all. They should work as a Midi controller but nothing is showing up. What should I do?

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 13.0

Hey there Theo_sorrentino,

If only some features are not working, make sure you have your keyboard set up properly to be used with your Mac. The steps in the link below will help with set up:

Connect a music keyboard to use with GarageBand on Mac - Apple Support

Should you need additional help with using this on your Mac, continue here: Play software instruments in GarageBand on Mac - Apple Support

Take care!
