I seem to have made the "mistake" of ugrading my AW 6 to watchos 10.0.1 and have lost the ability to swipe between different watch faces that I have. Is this seriously supposed to be like this!? Is there any way of reverting to watchos 9.x?

The method has changed slightly to reduce unintended changes. Instead of just a single swipe, press and hold (about 1 second) on the watch face until it changes to offer Edit, then you can swipe left and right (or spin the Digital Crown) to select a new face and tap to confirm.

No idea how many but obviously enough for Apple to consider the number of complaints was significant. The touch and hold has always been there but now it is the primary method and add using the Digital Crown.
To be fair I see very little practical difference between a flying swipe or a 1 second touch to enable swiping. It is also more accessibility-friendly for users with coordination difficulty.
I just got the new update and I HATE that I can’t easily swipe to a different watch face. I used that alllll the time. Now I have to hold and switch - lame. Much less efficient. Apple if you’re listening please change this back.
