Mac OS Sonoma 14 [bug] extended monitor sync desktop movement with laptop monitor [macbook pro]

Prior to upgrade to Sonoma 14, when I use 4-finger swipe gesture on my macbook pro touchpad, the desktop changes accordingly but limited to where the mouse is at. For example, if the mouse is at the extended monitor desktop, only the desktop on the extended monitor changes and the laptop desktop remains unchanged.

After the upgrade, no matter where the mouse is at the 4-finger swipe changes desktops on both monitors at the same time. This became very annoying when the intention is to move files/text from laptop desktop to a desktop that is not shown on the extended monitor, and vice versa.

Anyone else is experiencing the same? Any suggestion/fix will be appreciated.

Try this.... Go to System Settings

  • DEsktop & Dock
  • Scroll all the way down to Mission Control
  • Turn on "Display have separate spaces"
  • Re-start.

Hope this helps
