windows found the drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them.

I'm trying to use Duet Display on my Ipad, but my PC (Windows 10) doesn't recognize my iPad Air (4th gen, iPadOS 17.0.3). I already tried many things, but when I attempt to update the driver, I always get the following message:

Windows found the drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them.

One of the installers for this device cannot perform the installation at this time.

What I've tried:

  • Update the Software
  • Use different cables
  • Restart the PC and iPad
  • Uninstall Antivirus
  • Delete every component related to Apple and reinstall iTunes
  • Restart AMDS
  • install usbaapl64.inf
  • Uninstall the driver

Also, I don't get the message "trust this computer" (I've also reset the related iPad settings)

At the moment, in the device manager, the iPad is listed as "iPad" with a yellow triangle under "Other devices

Please Help!

Hello _Anonymous__,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that your iPad is not recognized and you’re unable to use the Duet Display.

We recommend trying the steps here: If your computer doesn't recognize your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

"1. Look in the Finder or iTunes

2. Update the software on all devices

3. Connect your device directly to your computer

4. Trust your computer, if asked

5. Allow the accessory to connect

6. Restart your devices

7. Try a different port, cable, or computer

8. Contact us"

If no resolution, please reach out to the developer of Duet Display using the steps here: How to contact an app developer - Apple Support

"Contact the developer of an iOS, iPadOS, or watchOS app

  1. Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Search for the app, then tap it. If you can't find it, tap the account button  or your photo at the top of the screen, tap Purchased, tap "Not on this [device]," then tap the app.
  3. The app's product page appears. Scroll to the Ratings & Reviews section, then tap App Support. If you don't see App Support, make sure that you're signed in with the correct Apple ID."

These steps may help. Please let us know if you have further questions.

Take care.
