How can I update my contact card photo?

Hey,

since the apple Update, I have uploaded a new picture to my contact card. However, the ICON still only shows my initials (no photo). See Screenshot attached. How can I add a photos to where my initials are now?

Would appreciate your answer :-)

Best,

Mark

Hey there Marrvark,

We'd like to help! We understand that you've already set your Contact card photo to the one you want, but in the Contacts app, it still shows only our initials and not the photo you set. If that's right, we'd like to rule out some basics, along with learning more about what's happening:

  1. If you go to same screen at which you set your Contact card photo, is the one you set still selected?
  2. Which photo shows at the top of Settings > Your Name?
  3. We see you have iOS 17 installed, but the latest version is iOS 17.0.3. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. In case you needed it, this link shows how to first back up, then update: Update your iPhone or iPad If you already have iOS 17.0.3 installed, sometimes unexpected behavior can be resolved with a restart: Restart your iPhone

Cheers!

Hello Marrvark,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. Let's try the following steps below:

1.) Close out of the Contacts app: Close an app on your iPhone or iPod touch - Apple Support

2.) Refresh things by restarting your iPhone: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

3.) Make sure you don't have any Screen Time restrictions enabled: Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

4.) If your issue continues, delete your current card and re-create it to see if that helps update your profile picture.

We hope these steps help you. Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
