How do I delete shared with you ?..do not need it and it is persistent

You mentioned iOS 17, but your post indicates you're using Mac. To help us better assist you, can you confirm which device you're using?

It seems like you want to turn off the "Shared with You" feature, is that correct? If you're using Mac, and want to turn that feature off, please check out this link, which explains that process: Change Shared with You settings in Messages on Mac

In the Messages app  on your Mac, use Shared with You settings to select the apps where you want to see content that’s been shared with you (available in macOS 12 or later).

To change these settings, choose Messages > Settings, then click Shared with You.
