Wallpaper loads after showing grey screen on startup....after Sonoma upgrade

Is it just with me? or did others experience their screen going grey while the wallpaper loads.....the dock and widgets still being visible....

Maybe it has to do with the large amount of space dynamic wallpaper takes....but on the startup it doesnt move so why does it take so much time(5-10sec)

It is really embarassing when i turn on my macbook air 2019 (intel) and it shows a grey screen after logging-in.

Plz help

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 14.0

I'm exactly the same @execentric (and on same iMac)

What's weird is that when I first updated to Sonoma I had wallpaper on my main display but not on my external display. I then logged in the next day and both displays are showing no wallpaper, just black screens!? Doesn't matter whether I choose dynamic or static wallpaper, or one of my photos. As well as that- the screensaver that was working has now gone black too!?
