If the Red traffic light button doesn't close the app completely, I click app name in the menu and choose "Quit ...". No right click involved. This is SOP for Macs.
Notice the "Quit Safari" selection. There is an analogous selection for all apps when the red button only minimizes.
You can move the cursor to the app's red close button or to the app's menu and select quit.
But do you really want an errant swipe on the pad to close the app? Perhaps with unsaved data?
There are two kinds of users when it comes to data loss: those who have lost data, and those who will.
Ok thanks !
But i know this of course, i was asking for a trackpad's gesture shorcut because its way faster !
Does someone know if its possible please ?
Omg thats crazy in 2023 to fight for such an obvious feature on Apple...
So no trackpad gesture possible to close app ? (like CMD+Q)
Yes i do this kind of gesture ( a very special one) for pro app and i really want this. (never closes accidentally in 20 years)
So can we do it or not ?
Because clicking on the red button does not close the app. (how do you select quit ? by doing a right click ?)
