SG*OriginalPlus subscription charge? - Apple Pay Wallet

I received an emailed receipt for £29.99 from SG Original Plus for a subscription i never ordered. my current account was debited £29.99. the transaction appears in my apple pay wallet but I have no idea how it happened. Does anyone have any suggestions? Somehow, this company had my email address, and the receipt they sent me by email specified that I had purchased a subscription for one month - with a start and end date. I have no idea where this all came from. I didn't seek out this company - I have no interest or knowledge in or of them, and I never gave any personal details to them at all - or purchase instructions. However, according to the payment history in my Apple Wallet, I payed £29.99 to them at 12.59 on 5th Oct but I wasn't even using my phone at this time. What is going on?

hi, I am the original poster on this thread. Your experience maps mine (same company name etc). In fact, what I hadn’t realised was that I had received an email a week earlier confirming my free trial subscription for a week, so when I got charged £29.99 it was the start of the paid subscription. I emailed SG original and received a detailed reply insisting that I could only have been charged any money if I had supplied all the information myself. In other words- it’s all my fault. But I have no knowledge or memory of doing such a thing and have never sought their services ever. I will put their reply on this thread

I have just suffered the same experience. Yesterday (10th Nov 23) I see that £29.99 is pending to be taken from my bank account after the weekend. I see the transaction in my Apple wallet record, taken by SG*ORIGINALPLUS, LONDON, GB. I didn't knowingly authorise this transaction. Looking back into my records and from my memory the only questionable transaction was when trying to sort out parking through the Ringo website and app. I was unsuccessful with the website but eventually successful after downloading the app. Somehow I think this company has hung onto the Ringo website and/or app and, if not fraudulently, certainly knowingly and successfully duped me (and others) into agreeing unknowingly to this charge. Bank has blocked any further payments but I need to somehow contact this company to request a refund. This has nothing to do with being in or calling (or receiving calls from) Singapore or having Apple TV. This is simply an unscrupulous company trying to hoodwink people into paying for nothing. My challenge now is to get my £29.99 back from a company that is difficult (if not impossible) to find and communicate with.

I have contacted the bank and that company is now blocked so no further payments will be made. That was done whilst the payment was pending. I’ll contact the back again today now that the payment has been taken to see if they can somehow recover this unauthorised payment.

I also went on to the Originalplus website and found that I had a subscription which I then cancelled.

Also I contacted their customer support team re this issue but currently they’re saying that my email address isn’t recognised. The saga goes but at least I’ve stopped any future payments.

I’ve just had £29.99 taken out of my bank via my Apple Wallet. It’s left me with hardly any money and I have no idea who they are it what it’s for . The bank can’t raise a fraud complaint for 15 days but I’ve put a stop on my bank account. How do I get in touch with Apple Wallet? Any help I would be grateful . I’m a pensioner and can’t afford whatever this thing is.

Me too - at 12,32 today it just took £29.99 out of my bank using my Apple Wallet I’ve tried all over the Webb to find an address/email/phone number. I’ve no idea what it is for. Only thing I signed up to was 3 months free Apple Music which ends in February I’m a pensioner and would never sign up to any subscription I don’t know nor need

Unfortunately Sue, the bank will not open a fraud case. They will go down the line of “you (for what ever reason/ or however) signed up for the subscription.

this is what Lloyds informed me. Use the address and contacts above this post and also below asking the company for a refund.

sorry to be the barer of bad news

Thank you to the gentleman who sent me a link to these people SG *Originalplus who took. £29.99 unlawfully out of my bank account today via Apple Wallet at 12.32. I’ve written to them and saved a copy so my bank can see I have tried to contact the company. This will be useful when my bank speak to them after the 15 day period when I can officially apply to get my money refunded. Thanks once again to the gentleman who offered me help.

Same here. Tuesday November 15th. When I spoke to my bank’s fraud department they said they could see a mounting threads on Apple community complaining about money coming out of Apple Wallet. Apple have removed a comment I made linking them to SG*OriginalPlus but we can’t All be wrong. Thank you for alerting me to this “scam”.

I blocked my credit card linked to Apple Pay (no false shadow should fall on their greate service) and contacted my bank about a payment to SG*….which I did not authorize Oct 26. Today I got my money back. Wow!😮.

The question remains how the fraudster’s succcedid? Was it through a refund of 5 cent 7 days before the withdrawal of €29,90.

There are thousands of bank customers within the EU and around the world who have been affected and it is worrying that this could happen. It damages trust. How do the banks plug such a hole so it doesn’t happen again???

I HAVE SPOKEN TO MY BANK A SECOND TIME ; After seeing so many people complaining about unauthorised funds coming out of their bank via Apple Wallet to SG*OriginalPlus of £29.99 to make my Bank Co-op aware of the number of people who have had their banks plundered by this Company. I’ve received No emails, text or anything - just a notification via my Wallet to say the money had gone from

my bank - my bank are going to investigate now they are aware there are so many people in this scam, and I May get my money bank, from the Bank. Hope this helps. Ring your Bank a SECOND time and let them know how many people have been affected.
