What keyboard exactly?

Make / Model?

Is it wired? or wireless? Bluetooth?

If Bluetooth does it appear in Bluetooth settings?

Also, if its a Bluetooth keyboard, have you verified its charged, or has batteries with enough power inside?

Did you forget the keyboard in the bluetooth settings on the iPad?

Provide more details and context, and someone may be able to help.

Remove the iPad from the Magic Keyboard - and carefully/gently clean the smart connector contacts on both the iPad and keyboard with a soft pencil eraser (a drafting-film eraser is ideal). Ensure that the contacts on both iPad and keyboard are dirt and dust free - and all debris from the eraser have been removed - before reconnecting the two.
