My password doesn’t work to shut off screen distance

I am trying to shut off my screen distance and my password will not work?!

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities. You mentioned that you're unable to turn off Screen Distance because your Screen Time password isn't being accepted. If so, we'd like to point you in the right direction. This resource can show you how to change your Screen Time passcode: If you forgot your Screen Time passcode - Apple Support


On your iPhone or iPad
1. Go to Settings > Screen Time. 
2. Tap Change Screen Time Passcode, then tap Change Screen Time Passcode again.
3. Tap Forgot Passcode?
4. Enter the Apple ID and passwordthat you used to set up the Screen Time passcode. Forgot your Apple ID password?
5. Enter a new Screen Time passcode, then enter it again to confirm.


How to reset the Screen Time passcode for your child's device
If you’re using Family Sharing to manage a child’s account, the family organizer needs to reset the passcode on their device. 

On an iPhone or iPad
1. On the family organizer's device, go to Settings > Screen Time.
2. Scroll down and choose a child’s name under Family. 
3. Tap Change Screen Time Passcode, then tap Change Screen Time Passcode again. Then authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode.
4. Enter a new Screen Time passcode, then enter it again to confirm.
