I have the following problem where my disk shows full and 244 GB for the applications, but actually my apps should barely take more than a few GBs. I'd appreciate any insights.
PS. I'm using mac mini & sonoma.

That GUI is known to be radically incorrect.
For the big picture what do you see from the Get info (Command i) from your Macintosh HD
Restart in Safe Mode, then restart normally.
Reset the Spotlight index.
Mac storage full but it shouldn't be
