iPhone 7 Plus sound and voice calls not working
When I record a video, there is no sound, and when I play back the video the sound icon in the Photos app is grayed out and cannot be changed.
When I make a voice call, I do not hear anything when the other party picks up. I cannot hear them and they cannot hear me. As above, the Speaker “bell” icon displayed while the call is in progress is grayed out and cannot be changed. The call attempt does not show up in my call log.
When I am called, my phone rings but when I accept the call I cannot hear anyone and the caller cannot hear me. That call attempt also does not show up in my phone log (even though the call timer starts normally and seems to be recording the call duration until I drop the incoming call).
This began happening 10 days ago. I have restarted the phone several times but I still have the problem. A tech person at UbreakIfix, without ever opening the phone itself, told me this is a known issue on the Apple chip and they had no fix for this. It seems others have reported this issue but the responses I’ve seen did not resolve my issue.
I certainly appreciate any response to this vintage, semi-prehistoric iPhone issue. Thank you!
