Losless audios refuse to play on my phone

I recently got apple music and I wanted to use the hi-res lossless audio for my music. Every time I press on a song it will show the unpaused button but then change it to the paused button. It will then keep skipping through the whole catalog until I stop it. But if I want to go back to high quality the music will play no problem. Im not sure whether it is my phone that is the problem (I have an iphone se 3rd generation) or its something else.
