I just received my iPhone 15 and had arranged for a trade in. I would like to take my old phone into an Apple Store rather than ship it back. Will that be possible?

Having been in the Apple Store for an unrelated matter, I brought in the return packaging and the item and asked about this, and the people at the store didn’t blink, performed the evaluation, and issued the refund / credit.

Apple's Web page says that you can trade in your current device "all online or at an Apple Store." However, I don't know if you can change the trade-in method once you have started the trade-in process.
I would suggest contacting Apple and asking them the question. I see a "Need shopping help? Ask a Specialist" link on the online Apple Store page; or you could try calling the retail Apple Store.
