How do I disable Lockdown mode for a Safari Web App?

I have a web app (a company dashboard) that I want to disable Lockdown Mode for. I have added the URL in Settings>Websites>Lockdown Mode. That works.

Yet if I create a Safari web applet by File>Save to Dock… that applet runs with the site opened in Lockdown Mode. How do I "fix" this?

Hello roenass,

We have a great support article that might help with this. Please take a look at it here: About Lockdown Mode - Apple Support. The instructions in the "How to exclude apps or websites from Lockdown Mode" should help with this issue.

I have the same problem.

Example: office.outlook.com runs perfectly fine in Safari - I have set office.outlook.com to have no blockers, and lockdown mode is off - this was done using "settings for office.outlook.com" from the Safari menu. However when it is run as a Web App, it is missing many visual elements, such as icons and it becomes unusable.

The Web App was created using "Add to Dock".

I have confirmed that office.outlook.com is excluded from blockers and lockdown in Safari/Settings/Websites.

It appears that Safari Web Apps are not honouring the Website settings for blockers and lockdown.

I have attached an image of the outlook toolbar below, so you can see how useless Outlook is when running as a web app.

That article isn't helpful. As I described, I followed the procedure in that article to exclude the site in question.

And as I described, that works. In Safari. But if I "Save to Dock…" the site, the ensuing web applet runs in lock down.

The question remains: how do I exclude a site in a Safari web app from Lockdown Mode?
