Sometimes, screenshots disappear and do not save to my screenshot folder.
When I take a screenshot, I get the thumbnail at the bottom right of the screen. If I wait, it saves it to my screenshot folder. However, when the thumbnail appears, sometimes I immediately move it to the app that I'm using such as WhatsApp or an email. If the move doesn't work successfully (perhaps I 'unpressed' too soon), the image disappears completely. It's not even saved in the screenshot folder.
Where does the image go? It's stored somewhere before it's saved so surely, if my premature move failed, the save to the screenshot folder should still take place.
So, where is the image? This has been happening for years as well so it's nothing to do with safe mode, setting up save folders, MacOS versions, it's been happening for years (since Mavericks and every following OS).
Please don't say "wait until it's saved" because I know that's one solution. Sometimes I'm impatient! The other solution is the correct and logical one which is... If the move fails, go to the screenshots folder and do it again. The image save of the screenshot should still take place.
This has been nagging me for years and hopefully someone knows where the images are before they are moved to the relevant folder.
Thanks in advance, Maz
