Apple Music not working properly on my iPad 6th generation

Ever since I downloaded IOS 17 for iPad my Apple Music doesn’t work. It will play a couple of songs, then freeze up. I have tried powering off several times with no result. I have deleted the app then reloaded it, still no result. Everything else works just fine except Apple Music. Any ideas?

Guys, I have a similar problem on the 6th generation iPad and I solved it by installing an alternative player from the AppStore, I chose Soor (7 USD)! And the problem really lies in their player, because if you select the system player in Soor, then the problem will be there too, but if you select the program player, then everything is ok! I hope it helped someone! I hope Apple fixes it!

Are the songs in the playlist being streamed to the device, or is your content downloaded to it? You might try downloading the playlist if you're streaming, or removing the download otherwise, and then see if performance is any better.

It has to be the Apple Music app, and not the "obsolete" iPad 6gen.

On my iPad 6gen, the Music app is freezing as soon as I try to stream music or play music from the saved downloaded albums. This startet after the latest iPadOS 17.1.1 update.

Force restart and installing the Music App again did not help. More than 50GB internal free space.


The Apple Music Classic app is working without any issues, no matter if I stream or play downloaded titles, using Wi-Fi or LTE.

My iPad has been acting up when I want to play my purchases on the Music app. 6th gen, 128Gb, 50% free Ram, IOS 17.1.1. Did a forced restart as suggested and managed to get a recent purchase to stop freezing when I wanted to change track. It even displayed the songs! But, when I go to my Albums and select one, the list of songs will not appear. The app just freezes. I notice that going to the iTunes store lets me see my purchased album and songs and I can select them there. But truthfully, I think the Music app is ready for a major rewrite.
