Apple Music not working properly on my iPad 6th generation

Ever since I downloaded IOS 17 for iPad my Apple Music doesn’t work. It will play a couple of songs, then freeze up. I have tried powering off several times with no result. I have deleted the app then reloaded it, still no result. Everything else works just fine except Apple Music. Any ideas?

Hi and thanks for keeping an eye on the thread! Yes I Have, I have also rebooted the iPad and done a reinstall. It seems the bug sits in the player part of the app for as much as I can see. The app seems to freeze from there, maybe the account connection is buggy too.. I have managed several times to get it going again for a limited time. I’ll keep trying, it seems that either some action/reset procedure manages to break the deadlock. Thanks again K-S.

When did they promote you to moderator? I’ve been trying for years.

And we really don’t mind if anyone cancels a subscription, it’s the threats that are pointless.

We have a long way to go till 17.2

17.1.2 17.1.3 17.1.4 17.1.5 17.1.6 17.1.7 17.1.8 17.1.9 17.1.10 (when is halfway?)

I assume you are joking. “point-point” versions are emergency releases to fix potential vulnerabilities. The probable reason 17.2 wasn’t released is it is still in testing, and now, the vulnerability that caused 17.1.2 to be created must now be added to 17.2 and tested.

I have all the problems listed in this search. I have had a technician work on it online without solving the problem and then took it to the Apple Genius Bar. Everything was deleted and new software put in. Was told it was fine now and that I could only pull up a few songs initially because it takes a long time to download the music. That was around December 4. Now when I try to play a song, there is a circular pattern stating "downloading." Of course this never ends in any downloads.

I have indeed had the problem ever since downloading 17.1.2 . HOw about going back to 17.0?... until Apple fixes the problem. I do think if this is not resolved soon, I will need to discontinue the Apple Music App. In that case since I am paying for all this music to be on the Cloud, can I reload my music if and when the problem is fixed. My husband thinks I should get a new Ipad, but is there any reassurance that this problem will be solved with a new ipad. Is it right to buy a new ipad when everything except your music app works?
