After an update, the iPhone 12 Can't Make or Receive Calls. I called the carrier, and they could not fix the issue.

Hello Zion-IL,

It looks like you joined the Apple Support Communities from an excellent starting point: If you can't make or receive calls on your iPhone - Apple Support. Did you have a chance to follow all the steps on that page? What steps did the carrier complete with you?

Here are a few steps to try. Make sure you complete each one and then test to see if you can make and receive calls.

    1. You mentioned that the issue happened after completing an update. What type of update? If it was an iOS update, make sure that the iOS software is version 17.0.3. If it is not, follow these steps to update the software on your iPhone: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support.
    2. Check to see if you have any available carrier settings updates for your iPhone. To check, go to Settings > General > About. If an update is available, you'll see an option to update your carrier settings.
    3. If you use a SIM card in your iPhone 12, try to remove the SIM card and test it in another device, or try another SIM card in your iPhone. Remove or switch the SIM card in your iPhone - Apple Support
    4. Reset your network settings. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPhone > Reset > Reset Network Settings. Resetting the network settings will not delete any of your data, but it will reset Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.
    5. Check to see if the issue happens in a specific area or in a specific building. If your carrier allows Wi-Fi Calling, can you make and receive calls over Wi-Fi? If you disable Wi-Fi, are you able to make calls?

We hope this information helps you out.

Kind regards!
