Upgraded to ios 17.0.3 last night and now I can't send any text messages to android users. I have toggled iMessages on and off, and confirmed SMS is toggled on. Turned the airplane mode on and off to reset network connection , Restarted my phone, cleared my cache and ensured I had sufficient memory.
Can't fix it and can't restore back to ios 16. This is nightmare! Does anyone else have this issue?

Same here, seems this issue is escalating in the number of people having this problem. I have a family group with two iPhone users and one Android user. I no longer see anything from the Android user, and to top it off no longer see anything from another family member on an older iPhone with iOS 16. Only one family member's messages are displayed on my phone now! Tried all the "fixes" mentioned here with no luck. Went to AT&T, they reset the esim, but it did not fix anything. With so many people having the same problem with different carriers it tends to point at a software issue. I have iPhone 15 pro with iOS 17.1 AT&T service. iMessage does work, but as soon as an an Android device enter the text conversation it kills everything????
I have the same issue. I had to be with Apple. My carrier didn’t change. The only change was updating the IOS.
my carrier said it was an Apple issue.
This didn’t work for me. I don’t have group messages but deleting the thread of single messages and trying doesn’t work.
That is not a fix!

This has to be a service provider issue bc my husband and I have different phone versions and we both have lost the ability to turn on group messages. Hm.
You want to try check whether you have turn on the lockdown mode (under private and security).
if you have turned on, maybe you can try turn it off.
it might be a reason for the faulty.
I rebooted and can send images and gifs but no videos. I have straighttalk for a carrier so I don’t think it is carrier related.
HughCrawford - what exactly did you do? I have shut down my phone and turned back on. Is power cycling something different? Thank you.

I restarted the phone and that solved my problem.
Yes. Mine is finally working. Updates and reboots. Hopefully it won’t happen again even though Apple doesn’t seem to think they are at fault.

Hey... I restarted my phone and everything is working just like before. I think it would be better to restart the phone first. It may work.
Me too, and I can't phone landlines or Androids either. I don't know if it is possible to call 911. When is Apple going to fix this?
I agree. This needs to get fixed. Instead it is getting worse. Now, I don’t get group texts from android users. We need HELP!!!!
