Non use of iCloud

I keep getting notifications that my iCloud accound is full. The problem is that I have NEVER used that account, know absolutely nothing about the account and absolutely will never use it for GOVERNMENT security reasons.

I used to work for the Government and when I retired some years ago there were strenuous consitions against any government computer connected to the internet along with numerous NO NOs which included using the iCloud.

Is there any way to totally disable that function on my computers?

There are no security problems with iCloud. iCloud is the most secure file sync service available.

Most companies and governments forbid use of personal iCloud accounts due to the security of their own data being attached to personal devices and sync services. That's a different issue. No organization wants its private data scattered across the internet out of its control. You could have always used iCloud on your personal devices.

If your iCloud is full, then it sounds like you have already been using it. You'll need to sign in and see how it is being used. If you have more than one Apple device, you might even consider upgrading iCloud to get more storage and/or services.

Then there is something wrong in iCloud as I have NEVER signed in to it. I have had many notifications, and still have both the two step verification AND iCloud request show up every time I turn it on and immediately try to just close them but the verification automatically opens the file when you click the X.

There is nothing wrong with iCloud. It won't hurt to sign in to it and see what is going on. You can use the web interface at https://icloud.com
