apple watch timer recent - how to eliminate?

My apple watch timer puts a list of "recent" timers before my ACTUAL timers. I want the recent timer list to disappear. I have NO INTEREST, AT ALL, in lists of "recent" things. I want my things in order, every time. How do I make the recent list go away?

Stop trying to think for us. Think different Apple, remember? How can we remove timer history without wasting my valuable time deleting them 1 by 1?

You are correct. Others aren't listening or understanding you. Prior to OS10, there was a kludgy way to remove them one-by-one (left-swipe, Save, left-swipe, Remove). Now that doesn't seem to exist. I not going to complain about how Apple rarely gives us options, but some of their forced choices are really stupid. Give me the *option* to save a particular time, *if I choose to*, but don't force every, single, timer to be saved and to block all of the presets.

I'll monitor this post to see if anyone has any kind of a work-around, and I'll post, *another* suggestion to Apple (they never listen anyway).

If you tap the x, it clears the screen and says, "no active timers." As soon as you either press the "+" or leave and come back into the timer function, the "recent" timers are there again, on top, making me scroll to see all the real timers.

In other words, it does not make them go away, it just makes the watch screen blank temporarily, but appears to have no function otherwise.

This is like someone coming into my file cabinet and returning the files all stuffed into the front and calling them "recent" and leaving. So very very NOT welcome.

No, I do not want to delete all of my timers.

I want to delete the "RECENTS" list, which resides above the "ALL TIMERS" list, and I have to scroll past it to see the "ALL TIMERS" list. If I scroll to the bottom and use "edit" I can delete timers from my "ALL TIMERS" list, but I cannot delete timers in the "RECENTS" list.

I want the ALL TIMERS list only.

I do not want the RECENTS list.

SOLUTION!!! - The “Recents” section only saves the 4 most recent timers. You can add 4 random timers (example: 1, 2, 3, & 4 seconds) then scroll to the bottom and click “Edit.” Delete the 4 new timers from the “All Timer” section. This removes the timers from both the “All Timers” and “Recents” sections. Click “Done.”

I am wondering if you do not see a "RECENTS" list, since all of your answers assume it is not there. I am keen to know how you got that. Do you see the word "RECENTS" anywhere on your timers screen?

Have you used your timer before? If you set a timer to one minute and then look at your watch after it is complete, do you now see a "RECENTS" list?

Oct 16, 2023 2:14 PM in response to IdrisSeabright

So if you run a timer, allow it to complete. You'll now see where it says "Recents" at the top of the list, followed by all of the recent timers that you ran. Then below that you should see All Timers, followed by the Plus, followed by all of the presets. Correct?

Ok, go to the bottom, select Edit. Now, all of the presets have a red "-", but none of the Recent's do, and they're greyed out.

How do you delete the Recents? Do you have to delete all of the presets too?

I understand what you want. Please stop shouting. I think what you want may be impossible. I'm trying to offer as many options as possible that might at least get you part of the way there. Yes, you might need to delete your recent timers every couple of days. You should be able to delete the Recent timers. I just did it.

Meanwhile, you should submit feedback to Apple:

Product Feedback - Apple

And, possible check out the App Store to see if there is a timer app that better meets your needs.

Best of luck.

I am not shouting.

I am trying to differentiate so that you can see the difference between your answer and my question. I asked about "recents" and you answered about "all timers".

You didn't reply about "recents" in any of your answers. I was trying to be clear.

No, I cannot delete my "recents" timers just as you did. I can delete any of my "all timers" using your method, but the "recents" are greyed out.

Do you see the word "recents" on your watch? The screen shot where you showed "I just did it" is a screen shot of your "all timers".

Moreover you say, "Yes, you might need to delete your recent timers every couple of days. You should be able to delete the Recent timers. I just did it. " and I said I cannot delete the "recents" as they are greyed out when using the edit button, I can only delete from the "all timers" list.
