Translate app

Please help! My Apple translate app seems the be stuck on “on device mode” it’s greyed out and I can’t turn it off. Why would this be? What setting have I missed? This is on both my iPhone and iPad. Many thanks

Translate iPhone app stopped working Whenever I try and use the Translate app it now comes back with “translation couldn’t complete” even after retrying. The app used to work, possibly updating to latest iOS broke it. I’ve tried restarting app and iPhone.

Translate app stuck on "Download Offline Languages" Why doesn't the translate work on Pro Max versions of iPhone? Apple's stock answers of "restart phone" and "check for updates" are BS. Totally irrelevant. The more you update the phone, the worse the translate app works.
