MacOS Monterey - How do I download an .mp3 copy of a single Podcast episode?

I cannot find any option or method to download a usable audio file copy of a selected podcast episode.

There is an option to "save" an episode but I cannot find anything that explains what that means or where the file would be or what it would be called so I can then locate such a file in the Finder.

There is a button that looks like an arrow pointing down but that only gives me the option to "Cancel" or to "Remove Download".

So where is the downloaded file, presuming it is downloaded somewhere on my Mac?

Thanks for posting in the Apple Support Communities Fusilier,

Podcasts can be accessed and managed directly through the Podcasts app. The following page offers guidance that may help: Apple Podcasts User Guide

Sorry but NO. Not an answer to my question.

I not want to manage my podcast episodes IN THE PODCAST APP.

i want to manage individual downloaded podcast episodes completely outside of the Podcast App.

i want to download episodes and save then under my own naming scheme on my own hard drive.

This will allow me to keep historical copies of episodes I want to retain.

This used to be a trivial process under iTunes. I really miss iTunes.
