Philips Monitor 499P - Ethernet, Webcam & Audio

Hi, community,

I have a MacBook Pro 14" A2 Pro with macOS 14 Sonoma and a Philips monitor 499P, but macOS doesn't recognize the webcam, ethernet, and sound integrated into the monitor.

When I bought the MacBook Pro, this had macOS Ventura and all of the functionalities were okay (only the Ethernet needed to install a particular driver to work), but under the upgrade to Sonoma, the situation is really bad. All of the functionalities integrated into the monitor are broken.

Do you have any advice for me? I'm now proceeding with the downgrade to Ventura.

Hi!

Here to help!

I understand that you are connecting a Philips 499P, great choice! But, I also understand that since Sonoma, they don't seem to work together.

Let's see.

Well, I assume all hardware demands have been met, since it worked before [DisplayPort Alt Mode (DP Alt Mode) allows a USB-C equipped computer to connect directly to a display or monitor. The monitor will need to have a USB-C port for you to make this connection.])

There is something I'd like to try:

add a test user account ( > system settings > users and groups) - to see if it is "system-wide" or "account-specific".

I am however leaning, towards Philips, that they may have to upgrade their software (i.e. "it works on Ventura but not on Sonoma", along those lines).

But a test user is a great way to isolate further.

Let me know how I can help further!

Kind regards

RRD
