Error installing watchos 10.0.1 on Apple Watch 4

Without knowing the error you're receiving it's pretty hard to provide a solution to it. With that said, you can try the following to get the Apple Watch up to date:

1. Update your iPhone for the latest fixes: Update your iPhone or iPad
2. Restart both devices:
   1. Restart your iPhone
   2. Restart Apple Watch
3. Then attempt to update the Apple Watch: Update your Apple Watch

use a VPN by any chance? i had the same issue w my watch. When i tried again after disconnecting my VPN, it worked.
