Phishing attempt? Security issues with iPhone

Good day, this is becoming an occurrence that is causing me a lot of frustration at this point.. I am getting text messages from a few apple short codes for about 6 months now… I need to get to the bottom of this as I am not the one authorizing these requests.

I am not getting a pop up request to my trusted device

that prompts me to click on “Dont Allow” or “Allow”. I am only getting text messages about a verification code. Again, I am not the one requesting these logins, codes.

So whats going on here? There is really no other way to bypass the verification prompt to the trusted device other than once a successful login is performed you can click on “Didn’t get verification code” and that is the only way to get a text code to get through 2FA.

1.Are all these texts phishing attempts? Mind this, there are no links to emails or suspicious websites via the code that is provided.

2.I am not sure if someone might be trying to add my telephone to their appleID as a trusted device?

3.Is someone trying to access my information by the “forget password” feature. They would have to know my login credentials and my telephone number in full….

I am at a loss, all I hear is that these are phishing scams however they are coming from 3 to 4 short codes associated with apple. The links are not hyperlinks to any email or suspicious website. I would like others to chime in on this. Its getting annoying. I have changed my login credentials on Saturday and here we are Wednesday and I am getting another verification code

Hello Nyknicksny,

Per the screenshot shared, when compared to the one shown at Get a verification code and sign in with two-factor authentication - Apple Support, it is quite possible that this originates from Apple. If someone is trying to log into your Apple ID, they can request the code be sent to a trusted device - which is why it then shows on your iPhone. While these messages cannot be stopped, you can ensure your account is secure through the steps at If you think your Apple ID has been compromised - Apple Support.

Take care!

This is incorrect. The only way to get through to that prompt… “Didn’t get a code” is when someone successfully logins- a popup would automatically be sent to a trusted device FIRST… as I agree that text messages are a secondary way to acquire a verification code there is no way to INITIALLY bypass the 2FA to the trusted device first. I would strongly suggest doing research prior to responding with inaccurate information.
