iPhone 15 Pro Max Dim Overlay Bug

Was also having this issue and managed to fix it. In settings go to accessibility>zoom>zoom filter>none.

I had the lowlight zoom filter enabled and it caused this so I have a feeling that’s the issue you’re encountering too.

I think you have Turned ON the Reduce

White Point. To Check go to Accessibility->Display& Text Size-> Reduce White Point. It lowers the brightness of colors. Must check this option. Hope it will be helpful.

Happened to me it was this:

If you have tried all the obvious then it is Zoom overlay causing the issue. Go settings > accessibility

> zoom > zoom filter >select none

I’ve had this same problem and it bugs the **** out of me. After so many attempts and the same run around from YouTube videos I finally found out what was wrong for me. The zoom. In settings, accessibility, zoom, there’s a tab at the top that says zoom. Clicked that off and it went back to normal brightness.

Settings>Accessibility>Motion>Dim Flashing Lights. Turn it off. That solved it for me.

Go into brightness and display and down the bottom you will find always on display . I have turned this off and now have no back ground pics on low it has disappeared and gone back normal

Just found the solution to this problem right now. You have to turn on auto brightness. I had the issue of low brightness outdoors compared to a iPhone 13 Pro. But I turned one “Auto Brightness” under Accessibility-> Display and Text Size -> Auto Brightness. Hope this helps!

I have the same issue. My wife’s 14 promax was my phone before 15 promax doesn’t got this problem. Usually i got it on portrait mode when its hot.

I just have to say thanks for this—my phone display was so much dimmer than my husband’s (exact same, 15 Pro Max). Somehow I must have messed with this at some point and you led me back to fix it…thank you!!!! It had really been annoying me.
