multicam clips in angle view have resized and appear zoomed in

My multicam clips in the angle view have resized. They appear zoomed in and I cannot see the whole clip. I don't know how this happened and the only way to change it back is to quit the application and reopen it. Any thoughts?

I'm running FCP 10.6.10 on a 2019 Macbook Pro running Sonoma 14.0

Once you reopen, do they show normally?

Every time the application starts to misbehave, it is recommended that you delete its preferences. They often become corrupted, causing all sorts of weird behavior.

To delete preferences, hold down command and option while starting FCP X and click Delete Preferences.

The application will start in a default state, and open an "Untitled" library. Reopen the library you were working on, set the preferences the way you like them, and try again.

If the problem persists, please tell use more. If possible, post screenshots.

yes, they are normal. but it happens constantly. i’ve noticed that if i change Angle view from 4 to 9 it fixes the problem for a short time. when it happens again, i switch the view from 9 to 4, and so on. I’ll try the preferences deletion, but i’ve noticed in other forums via a moderate web search that this is a bug that has been happening to others for years.

If I understand correctly, this is an error only in how the angles are displayed inside the Angle Viewer, i.e., they appear scaled in there, but will appear correctly in the timeline and Viewer, right? Just trying to understand, not minimizing the problem.

Also, to further narrow it down, does it somehow relate to some scaling of the clips themselves - for example, are there 4K clips in a 1080p multicam, or does it happen also in a situation where the source clips have the same frame size as the multicam they are in?

"The Former" refers to my reply to the Luis's first paragraph first (the former) scenario.

Tom, it doesn't appear you've read the full thread. All media is the same resolution as the project and browser. This is also not about which clip is active or not. Within the Angle Viewer window, the clips resize. It looks like they are zoomed in. These same clips on the timeline, look just fine - as they are supposed to look. I have no idea why all of sudden, the clips in the Angle Viewer window do this. It's what I'm asking the community about to see if it's something I've done or if it's a bug. It plays like a bug.

Please give exact information about the specs media, the project properties, and the multicam clip.

As I said this is an old problem. It is not a new issue. However, I have never heard of it happening with fully matched media specs. Yes, it only appears in the multicam angle viewer and does not appear in the viewer. That’s characteristic of the problem.
