Have to reset M2 Air every morning after first startup since Sonoma

Since downloading Sonoma, each time I turn my M2 MacBook Air on for the first time of the day, the startup loading bar appears, loads, and then comes to a black screen where I can see and control my curser, but can't proceed beyond that. The screen that would typically appear would be the login screen. Typing my password in (presumably), as well as attempting to use the fingerprint login does not change anything. Screen remains black, I then hard reset the computer, and all is well on the second attempt. This has been occurring since I downloaded Sonoma.

Using the same M2 MBA upgraded from Ventura 13.6 to Sonoma 14.0

Installed Sonoma on release day

Not " Black Screen " on a Cold Boot

The fact a Hard Reset - presto >> returns to Normal Boot Up tends to validate there is something not right with the Initial installation

As a adjunct to previous posting >>

1 - Restart in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.

2 - Safe Mode will also eliminate Third Party Software, extensions and drivers from loading. It will only load the Minimum amount of Core Apple Processes to allow the the computer to function at a reduced Level of Performance

3 - Does the issue present in this mode ?

and / or

4 - Sometimes a Safe Boot followed by a Normal Boot will just put things right.

On the Apple Silicon machines.

The equal to an Intel SMC Reset ( Not possible on M1 / M2 ) as there is no SMC Controller.

Is to Shutdown the computer and wait a while, like what you are doing

Depending on the outcome tomorrow after an Over Night shutdown

You may need to follow @dialabrains suggestion and reinstall Sonoma via Recovery Mode

Use macOS Recovery on a Mac with Apple silicon
