I can offer the following troubleshooting suggestions:

  1. Check the internet connection on your MBA. Do you show a strong WiFi connection in the upper right section of your screen? Can your Mac connect to websites?
  2. Open the FaceTime app. Go to FaceTime-->Turn FaceTime On (an obvious one, but you never know!)
  3. Try resetting the FaceTime app. Open the app and go to FaceTime-->Settings . Next to Enable This Account, switch it off...wait a few seconds and switch it back on.
  4. Make sure your MBA is up to date. Go to System Settings-->General-->Software Update and ensure you're up to date.
  5. Ensure your Date and Time are configured properly. Go to System Settings-->General-->Date and Time. Make sure the Set Date and Time Automatically is switched on. Next to Time Zone, ensure yours is set correctly.
  6. Check your AppleID. Are you signed into the same AppleID as your other devices?
  7. Back in the FaceTime app, try signing out of your AppleID and sign back in.

Hopefully, one of the above suggestions will do the trick.
