Remove Adload

MacPaw's Clean MyMac X has detected adware named AdLoad on my MBP running OS 14.0 but can't remove it. Any suggestions about how to remove it?

Part 1 of 2

There is Adware & Malware which will affect the computer and is generally downloaded from “ Shady “ Websites or Developers who Inject this software into the download.

It would also require the User ( you ) to allow the Adware to Bypass the Builtin protection Apple Offers in the Operating System

Security. Built right in

Mac app security enhancements

The Built in Security  is all that is required to protect the computer.

It is suggested to download a more trusted application Malwarebytes for Mac to remove the Adware

It is free or paid for added features.

Run the Application and it should remove the malware / adware. Once done, restart computer and test.

Certain Applications maybe available on the Apple Apps Store - this only means the Developer is prepared to pay Apple a portion on each sale.

What the Application may do to the computer is up to the User to check this out before purchase

Any of the below should be removed as per Developers Instructions

1 - Disk Cleaner

This will include CleanMyMac , aka “ BrickMyMac

Read some of the posting and arrive at your own conclusions.

Specific to CleanMyMac aka “ BrickMyMac “

To put the CleanMyMac is context and the damages it may have or has already done.

This application can or will Muck Up your User Account ( Home Folder ) of this machine.

It does not touch the Operating System itself unless you consider your User Account ( Home Folder ) as part of the Operating System

Then in that specific context - it has Mucked Up the Operating  System
