Getting Kernel Panic report every time I reboot MacBook Air with macOS Sonoma

Ever since I upgraded to Mac Sonoma my M1 MacBook Air I get a kernel panic report every time I reboot. I have rebooted into safe mode and restarted but it's still happening.

It worked fine before. Anyone have any thoughts?

I had the same problem. After I updated my M1 Macbook Pro from Ventura to Sonoma I got kernel panic reports and reboots every day.

I investigated about this problem and I found a possible reason: the live wallpapers and the screensaver could cause kernel panics.

Today I deactivated the screensaver (I had no activated live wallpapers) and I haven't had any kernel panic all day. The Macbook Pro worked properly with no problems.

Try to deactivate live wallpapers and screensaver and see if your Macbook Air works properly.

I ended up realizing the issue was caused when I had an app running full screen, and then when I would drag the mouse to my second display (any other app, desktop, etc.) it would instantly result in a kernel panic.

Nothing has been fixed.

However, I can mitigate the problem by not running apps in full screen, and instead just running in windows mode (max size window, whatever), and then the cause of the problem does not occur.

A few. I tried uninstalling them but I couldn't track down what was the problem. When I wiped the drive I went back a week on my Time Machine back ups to reinstall my user information. An older 1Password, Dropbox, and Adblock all migrated back without a hitch. So whatever it was that wasn't playing well with Sonoma seems to have been fixed. If the kernel panics start back up again soon - I'll report back.

Well, I went through and tried to delete any extensions and clean up outdated apps. No luck. Entrecheck didn't seem to point to anything in particular. So I decided to wipe the drive, reinstall Sonoma then use Migration Assistant to move my previous users. So far no more kernel panics. I haven't opened every app but it seems to have worked. Probably not the preferred method but it seems to have worked.

I found a solution that worked for me and other people commenting on Reddit. I had the same issue and it was restarting at more and less the same time every 24 hours. I deleted all the widgets and it has not restarted in 4 days. I still have problems with the fact that 'optimized battery' does not work as expected. I definitelry think that Sonoma needs a lot of work. The latest updated did not fix this issues.

Did it happen in Safe Boot...you do not make it clear(?)

that test will tell you if third party interference; most* extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

if in doubt—

You can get a good look at your User/System config. and reveal conflicts or issues, you can download/run this trusted utility https://etrecheck.com

Me too- I kept getting a panic when running horizon client to VDI. I am not sure it is 100 percent with horizon client- since it happens when not running it. However it is more consistent- kernel panic- when I use horizon client. I did not try to turn off the screen saver- I did fall back to Ventura. FYI running M1 Max studio. Here is a sample from the panic-

I'm having a similar error while playing League of Legends. The error only began after updating to Sonoma, and has continued through macOS 14.1. The error:
