Contact Card Stuck on Memoji

I changed my contact card from a photo to a Memoji. Now when I try to change it back to a photo, it only lets me change the color background of the Memoji and skips over any options to change it from a Memoji to something else.

When I changed it back to a photo in the Apple ID settings, it temporarily changed my contact card but then switched back randomly both in the card and in my Apple ID settings.

I tried force quitting the phone and settings apps and resetting my phone but the issue persists. Super frustrating.

I’m not sure if you even read my post, but let me attempt to clarify the issue.

When I edit my contact card and tap “Edit” > “Contact photo”, if the previous contact photo was a Memoji, then the only options is to change the background color of the Memoji. There’s not option to “choose a different photo” and take a picture, select a photo, monogram, emoji, etc. as you can do if your previous contact photo is a photo.

I ended having to create a new screen and redoing my font, poster, and contact photo from scratch, but shouldn’t be necessary just to simply switch from a Memoji to a photo.

Hope that clarifies the issue. It seems like something the engineers need to fix in an update.
