iPhone 15 Pro Photos are Dark

Pictures are coming out darker after being taken with the front & back cameras. Compared with the iPhone 14 Pro & the iPhone 14's photo looks better. Is anyone else experiencing the same thing with their new iPhone 15s or knows the fix to this? This is frustrating since I need to take photos & videos for work.

The only way I can get my image to look the same in the photos app and elsewhere is to Go to Settings -> Photos-> and toggle OFF View Full HDR. This shows the image as you can expect it to look outside of the photo app when exporting. You just lose all the lovely HDR brightness and contrast. Still very disappointing.

I found a work around. I noticed the the camera would take a photo in a lighter setting and then instantly darken as it “processed”. If shot on “live” setting you can edit and go to live and then move it back in time so to speak to the lighter version. They should fix this though. Super annoying. I can edit it to be higher contrast/lower lighting on my own.

I’m facing this problem with my new IPhone 15 Pro. The pictures are horrible! The individual faces are dark even after adding a filter. I’m disappointed after spending so much to buy the phone. I feel like I’m being ripped off. My friend recommended 13 pro for better picture but I insisted on 15 pro because I assumed the higher the better. Apple must do something about this problem! is unacceptable and I feel cheated.

Hey guys. Ive been reading this thread alot. So far i have found that in settings u can actually change the type of “camera customization “ the default is very dark, and grey…. However, by changing it to “vibrant” it actually helps alot with lens correction especially the photos are much brighter. Even when focusing it still stays nice and vivid and bright! Hope this helps some of you.

The most disappointing purchase I’ve ever made. I waited years to upgrade and I finally bought ‘the best,’ so I could use the camera as a work tool. Im booked into Telstra to change my device to the 14 pro as the camera is basically unusable on the 15pro max. Genuinely don’t understand how they’ve gotten away with making such a redundant product. Extremely frustrating - they should be recalled.

Has anyone been able to resolve the issue on photos appearing darker than they actually are?

Also, the quality of the images are so poor I’ve stopped taking pictures completely. I’m so upset that I bought the iPhone 15 Pro.

I first notice on holiday when my photos came out super dark, on live they show the natural lighting but the captured image is too dark, if you change key photo the image becomes pixilated.

Also some of my images have a “Glow” on people so they come out bright and dont have any focus and detail.

FIX!!!! I just found this in my camera settings for the iPhone 15 Pro after with my photos coming out dark automatically.

Go to Settings then Camera then Photographic Styles. From here you can swipe left or right to change the automatic styling of your photos. The one that was selected for me by default was rich contrast style. After doing tests with multiple styles, I selected the vibrant style, but the standard style will make your photos look the same as you see it through the viewfinder.
