iOS 17.0.3 used and free space display (UI)

Maybe for the developers to consider, but posting here in case my phone is weird, for others to comment:

In the phone storage settings:

= ~1/3 full

The phone has around 45 GB of music and videos sync'ed from local files via iTunes the old school way, and maybe a GB of albums purchased at Apple - so I expect a bigger green "music" bar.
The red "Synchronised content" could be my 9,803 photos and 1,391 videos - the yellow bar is very small, even when the phone is sync'ed with iCloud+ and the files on the phone are compressed versions.
It is hard to tell the grey bars from each other, especially if and when the phone is almost full.
One of the previous versions of iOS 17 had the phone around 50% full, which is more realistic, and also what Windows File manager says when the phone is connected via USB:

The storage estimates shown in Finder/iTunes and on the device itself can vary simply because of the way that each system calculates that data. It's not unexpected to see slight differences when you compare the two side by side. Hi Nathan,

A 50 GB diffence in the reported free space is unusual.

At first I worried if the 17.0.3 iOS update had eaten the music or the pictures on the phone ;)

I keep the phone telemetry on and expect this and other issues to light up at the developers.

From further reading in the forum I realise it is intended mostly for Q&A and FAQ's, not so much for technical discussions. I'll consider being more active during the winter.
