mac on turning on shows the Apple logo then turns off if the connection from the electricity outlet is removed for 5 mins then connected back then only the iMac turns on otherwise in continuous connection it doesn't.

Since disconnecting your iMac from power temporarily addresses that behavior, that could indicate an issue with the SMC or other internal components: Reset the SMC of your Mac - Apple Support
You can also attempt to isolate that further by connecting your iMac to a different wall outlet.
