Reducing the media / diffuse white point for external HDR displays

Hi,

I just purchased an HDR capable external display, Samsung ViewFinity S8 32" (S32B806PXN), which correctly connects to my macbook and displays HDR content. However, the media white point, the white point that normal SDR images will map RGB(1.0, 1.0,1.0) to, is too high. I can reduce the brightness with the displays on-screen display but this reduces the peak white point of the display.

Is there a way in MacOS color management to reduce the media white point for an external display (the brightness that an EDR value of 1.0 will map to)

Thanks!

MacBook Pro 14″, macOS 14.0
